My roommate just said this to me in conversation. It stuck with me.
He didn’t say “Don’t beat yourself up.” He said, “Beat yourself up with a feather.”
It means reflect and examine yourself with kindness, with a gentle touch… not with anger or violence.
It’s ok to look at ourselves and see things we want to improve and change… But do it...
